Launch of Public Services Delivery Scotland

Today marks the launch of Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland), a new national organisation created to bring together the strengths, expertise and services of NHS National Services Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland.

From now on, these teams will work as one, reshaping support for the health and care system across Scotland - and helping partners deliver better outcomes for the people and communities they serve.

PSD Scotland has been created to modernise how national services operate, reduce duplication, and ensure frontline teams have the right skills, tools, data and infrastructure around them. The aim is simple: make it easier for health and social care staff to do their best work, and make sure the system is better prepared for the challenges ahead, including workforce pressures, digital transformation and changing public health needs.

Today isn’t just about bringing organisations together. It’s about creating something that is genuinely better, more connected, and more focused on what Scotland needs. PSD Scotland will help us keep pace with change, support our workforce, and strengthen the services that sit behind every point of care.

Karen Reid, Chief Executive

Our partners across health and social care rely on strong national services, whether that’s training, logistics, digital systems, procurement, improvement support or high-quality data. PSD Scotland will give us a clearer, more coordinated way of delivering these, and doing so with the long-term needs of the system in mind.

Keith Redpath, Chair

Over the coming months, PSD Scotland will continue developing its structure, shaping its strategy and working to ensure a smooth transition. For staff, partners and the wider public, the message is simple: the work you rely on continues, now with a stronger foundation behind it.
