A new chapter in reference management

RefWorks, a reference management tool used to save, organise and cite research references from online databases such as Medline, CINAHL and PsycInfo, has evolved into EndNote Fusion.

EndNote Fusion is a web-based service that helps users manage references and automatically generate citations and bibliographies when writing in Microsoft Word and other applications.

What you can expect

Along with a new look, you'll also see new features and functionality.

There's no need to do anything. All existing accounts have been transferred, including any personal settings and customisations you previously applied.

How to access EndNote Fusion

All health and social care staff in Scotland can access EndNote Fusion with an NHS Scotland OpenAthens account. The service is free to set up and is provided by PSD Scotland Knowledge Services to support reference management, citation and bibliography creation.

Bookmarks and saved URLs are being redirected, giving you plenty of time to update any links if needed. When exporting references and an EndNote Fusion option isn't available yet then the RefWorks export option will continue to work.

RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) has also been renamed to EndNote Fusion citation manager – if you already have this installed, you can continue to use with Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
